We are on the front lines, fighting to protect farmed animals. From factory farms and corporate board rooms to courts of public opinion, Mercy For Animals India is there to speak out for animals and against our cruel food system.
Government Affairs and Public Policy
Few laws protect farmed animals, even though they deserve the same protection from cruelty as the dogs and cats we love. Our government affairs team secures laws and policies that reduce farmed animal suffering and increase access to plant-based foods. The team also fights laws and policies that undermine these efforts.
Corporate Engagement
We move companies to commit to and implement higher welfare standards. Hundreds of companies have adopted impactful policies that improve conditions for chickens raised for meat, end cage confinement for laying hens, and spare pigs and newborn calves the cruelty of crates. We push for published implementation plans and progress reports to ensure fulfillment of these vital reforms.
Organising
Our organising programme empowers and coordinates animal activists. We guide them in taking campaign actions, organising in their communities, and raising their voices online. In building a diverse, inclusive, and well-equipped movement, we also develop community volunteer leaders who expand our work to protect farmed animals and drive the shift towards plant-based eating.
Public Engagement
Our public engagement team plays a vital role in creating change by inspiring news stories from the world’s top media outlets, collaborating with influential celebrities, and using social media platforms to amplify our message and drive actions. We blend influence with impactful storytelling to motivate individuals and communities to take action for animals.
