“Sonakshi has always been an ardent animal lover,” said Nikunj Sharma, CEO of Mercy For Animals India. “Her Instagram posts with her animal companion Gabru display her immense love for dogs. Her recent ad with cruelty-free handbag manufacturer Baggit shows her commitment to animal-friendly and leather-free fashion. As we enter the new year, we hope that Sonakshi’s message will encourage people to treat animals with love and compassion.”

Last year John Abraham appeared in a Mercy For Animals India ad encouraging people to be kind to animals. And many other celebrities, including Ayesha Takia, Sadaa Sayed, Anushka Manchanda, Sanam Puri, Ashmit Patel, and Daksha Nagarkar, have joined our call for compassion towards animals.

Mercy For Animals is one of the largest and most effective organisations focused exclusively on constructing a compassionate food system by reducing suffering and ending the exploitation of animals for food.
