Mercy For Animals volunteers urged food lovers at Chappan Dukan to “Choose Love; Choose Vegan” by embracing plant-based eating

Indore, India (February 14, 2025) – This Valentine’s Day, Mercy For Animals volunteers, joined by the Indore Animal Liberation Group, took to Chappan Dukan with a unique message of love. Dressed as a chicken, pig, and cow, they handed out roses to food lovers and urged them to choose love by embracing plant-based food. The eye-catching demonstration highlighted the inherent value of animal life and positioned veganism as an act of kindness and compassion.

“Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love, and that love should extend to all living beings,” said Kushal Samaddar, Organizing Coordinator at Mercy For Animals India. “Animals deserve our compassion and respect, and choosing vegan is a powerful way to show that we care. By switching to plant-based foods, we can create a more compassionate and sustainable world for all.”

Animal agriculture is a major driver of climate change, responsible for about 15% of human-caused greenhouse gas emissions. Per reports, India is at “extreme risk” of suffering the effects of climate change. According to the World Bank, climate change could shrink India’s GDP by 2.8% and lower living standards of nearly half its population by 2050. Reducing consumption of animal-based dairy, meat, and eggs is one of the best ways to decrease our carbon footprint from food and protect the planet for future generations.
