In a powerful display of unity, hundreds of students from the University of Delhi participated in a historic rally on World Animal Day. The rally, themed “Voice for the Voiceless” and led by Mercy for Animals India in collaboration with Hansraj College, aimed to highlight the suffering and cruelty endured by animals raised for food. The event urged people to rethink their food choices and adopt a more compassionate lifestyle.
The rally kicked off at 1 PM from Hansraj College and proceeded through neighboring colleges, including Kirori Mal College, Ramjas College, and the Arts Faculty, before returning to Hansraj. Participants, dressed in Mercy for Animals t-shirts and animal costumes, carried banners and placards while distributing informational leaflets to raise awareness about the harsh realities of factory farming.
Mercy for Animals India continues to urge consumers, policymakers, and the food industry to embrace plant-based foods. Transitioning to plant-based diets not only reduces the cruelty inflicted on animals but also leads to more sustainable and environmentally friendly outcomes.
